Join the Crew Behind the Crews: Volunteer for the Golden Oar Regatta
Every regatta has its winners and records, but behind the scenes the real champions are our volunteers. It is the dedication of volunteers that keeps rowing events alive.
At the Red Shed, we are lucky to have such a strong volunteer spirit. Parents, athletes, alumni, and friends of the rowing community all pitch in, creating not just great rowing participation but also a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Volunteering isn’t just about filling a role – it’s about being part of the action, supporting our athletes, and enjoying the camaraderie of the rowing community.
This November, we’re proud to be hosting the inaugural Golden Oar Regatta on Lake Burley Griffin – and we need the help of our volunteer team to make it a success. Over 100 volunteers are required for a regatta of this stature.
Whether you can spare a few hours or a whole day, your time makes a huge difference. No prior experience is necessary – we’ll provide all the guidance you need.

To everyone who has already volunteered at Red Shed – thank you. Your enthusiasm and generosity are what make the Red Shed community special. Let’s come together once again and deliver a regatta to remember.
