This National Volunteer Week, Golden Oar & Red Shed proudly celebrates the extraordinary volunteers who make our rowing community thrive — your dedication, energy, and generosity are the driving force behind every successful regatta.

To all our past, present, and future volunteers — thank you for being the real champions behind the scenes. Your spirit and hard work keep the boats moving and the community strong.

““Happy National Volunteer Week to all our amazing Golden Oar volunteers! Thank you for the early mornings, long days, teamwork, and countless jobs behind the scenes that make the regatta possible each year. Your energy and commitment are what keep our rowing community strong. We truly appreciate everything you do — on and off the water.” ”

— Angus Reid, Volunteer Manager, Golden Oar

A special thank you to the Rowing ACT officials and boat race officials whose leadership, professionalism, and commitment ensure every race meets the highest standards of safety and fairness.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, we are once again calling on our fantastic volunteer team. Over 100 volunteers are needed to deliver a regatta of this scale — from setting up course markers and launching boats, to athlete check-in, timing, safety, and spectator support. Every role, big or small, helps create a safe, smooth, and memorable day on the water.

Whether you can spare a few hours or the whole day, we’d love to have you join us. No prior experience is required — full training and support will be provided.

Come and be part of something special. Register your interest today and help make this year’s Golden Oar one to remember!
